Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying, selling and using Just eBikes.
Buying an eBike
Questions about browsing, contacting sellers and buying safely.
Do I need an account to browse eBikes?
No. You can browse listings without creating an account. You will need an account to use features such as messaging and saving listings.
How do I contact a seller?
Open the eBike listing and use the Contact Seller button. Your conversation will appear in Messages so you can keep the enquiry in one place.
Does Just eBikes sell the eBikes listed on the website?
No. Just eBikes is a marketplace that connects buyers with private sellers and retailers. The seller shown on the listing is responsible for the eBike, its description and the transaction.
How do I know if the seller is private or a retailer?
Retailer listings are connected to a Retailer Shopfront. Private listings are connected to an individual seller profile.
Can I save an eBike for later?
Yes. When you are signed in, you can save listings and return to them later from your Saved eBikes area.
Can I arrange delivery through Just eBikes?
Delivery arrangements are made directly with the seller. Listings can show available options such as local pickup, local delivery, free shipping or Australia-wide delivery.
What should I check before buying a used eBike?
Check the frame, brakes, drivetrain, wheels, tyres, motor, display, charger and general condition. Ask about servicing, crashes, modifications and battery history. A test ride and professional inspection are worthwhile for higher-value purchases.
What should I check about the battery?
Battery condition can have a major effect on an eBike's value. Ask about age, approximate usage, charging habits, replacement history and expected range. Battery capacity will naturally decline over time.
Can I test ride an eBike before buying it?
That is up to the seller. For private sales, agree on a safe location and any identification or security arrangements before the test ride.
What happens if an eBike has already been sold?
Sellers can mark listings as Sold. If a listing still appears available but the seller tells you it has sold, avoid sending payment and continue searching.
Selling an eBike
Everything private sellers need to know about creating and managing a listing.
How do I list an eBike?
Create an account, choose Sell, enter the eBike details, upload your photos, review the listing and publish it.
How much does it cost to sell an eBike?
Standard initial publication is free through 31 December 2026 under the launch offer. The normal Standard price is $29, and Featured listings remain $49.
What is the difference between Standard and Featured?
A Standard listing appears in the marketplace normally. A Featured listing receives additional visibility in Featured areas of Just eBikes for the applicable feature period.
Can I edit my listing after publishing it?
Yes. You can manage your own listings from the Dashboard and update the details when needed.
Can I add multiple photos?
Yes. Multiple images are supported. Use clear, recent photos and include enough angles to give buyers a good understanding of the eBike's condition.
How do buyers contact me?
Buyers contact you through Just eBikes Messages from the listing. Keeping the conversation inside the marketplace makes it easier to keep track of enquiries.
Can I mark my eBike as sold?
Yes. Once the eBike has sold, update the listing status so buyers know it is no longer available.
What should I include in my listing?
Include an accurate title, brand, model, condition, price, battery information, motor information, estimated range, location, delivery options and a useful description. Mention known damage, modifications or faults clearly.
Can I sell a modified or converted eBike?
Yes, provided the listing accurately describes the conversion or modifications. Buyers should be told about motor power, battery setup and whether the bike is intended for public-road or private/off-road use.
Retailers
Shopfronts, inventory, subscriptions and listing credits.
What is a Just eBikes Retailer?
A Retailer account is designed for eBike businesses that regularly list stock. Retailers can have a public Shopfront containing business information, eBike inventory and Parts & Accessories.
What does a Retailer account cost?
The Retailer subscription is $99 per month and includes 10 listing credits each month.
What are listing credits?
Credits are used when a retailer publishes marketplace inventory. Standard eBike listings are free through 31 December 2026 under the launch offer. Featured eBike listings remain 2 credits.
Can I buy additional credits?
Yes. Additional packs of 10 credits are available for $99.
Do unused retailer credits roll over?
Unused subscription credits can roll over for up to three months, subject to the current Just eBikes credit rules.
Can retailers list both new and used eBikes?
Yes. Retailers can list both new and used stock, provided each listing accurately describes its condition.
What appears on my Retailer Shopfront?
A Shopfront can show your business identity, logo, cover image, location, website, business details, eBike inventory and Parts & Accessories.
Can a retailer also sell an eBike personally?
Yes. A retailer account can still have personal activity, but business inventory should be clearly associated with the Retailer Shopfront.
Can customers contact a retailer through Just eBikes?
Yes. Customers can contact retailers in relation to listings and Shopfront inventory through the messaging experience available on Just eBikes.
Parts & Accessories
How retailer Parts & Accessories listings work.
Who can list Parts & Accessories?
Parts & Accessories are currently intended for Retailer accounts.
What types of products can retailers list?
Retailers can list items such as batteries, chargers, helmets, locks, racks, panniers, tyres, wheels, motors, displays, controllers, brakes, seats, child seats, tools and related eBike accessories.
How do I contact a retailer about a part?
Open the product page and use the Contact Retailer option to ask about compatibility, availability, pickup or delivery.
Do Parts & Accessories listings expire?
Parts & Accessories listings are designed as reusable retailer inventory and do not expire in the same way as a typical private eBike listing.
Does Just eBikes process Parts & Accessories payments?
Not currently. During the initial marketplace phase, product enquiries and purchases are handled directly with the retailer rather than through a Just eBikes checkout.
What if a part is out of stock?
Retailers can manage quantity and listing status from their Dashboard. Always confirm current availability with the retailer before making arrangements.
Accounts, Saved & Messages
Managing your account and marketplace activity.
Why do I need a Just eBikes account?
An account lets you list eBikes, save listings, manage your inventory, send and receive messages and access your Dashboard.
Where can I find my messages?
Open Messages from your Dashboard or navigation. Your existing buyer and seller conversations will appear there.
Will I be notified when someone messages me?
Just eBikes includes marketplace notifications for relevant account activity. Keep your account details current so you do not miss important enquiries.
How do I reset my password?
Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page and follow the password reset instructions sent to your account email.
Can I change my account details?
Yes. Account and profile information can be managed through your Dashboard settings and profile areas where available.
Are my contact details publicly visible?
Only information intentionally displayed in a public profile, listing or Retailer Shopfront is intended to be publicly visible. Buyers should use Just eBikes Messages where possible.
Safety & Marketplace
Important information about transactions, listings and eBike use.
Does Just eBikes inspect the eBikes listed on the site?
No. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Just eBikes does not physically inspect or certify individual listings. Buyers should make their own assessment before purchasing.
Does Just eBikes guarantee sellers or retailers?
No. Just eBikes provides the marketplace platform. Buyers and sellers remain responsible for evaluating each other and for the transaction they enter into.
How can I stay safe when buying privately?
Ask detailed questions, inspect the eBike, meet in a safe location, avoid unusual payment requests and do not send money if something does not feel right. For expensive eBikes, consider a professional inspection.
What should I do if a listing looks suspicious?
Do not send money or personal information. Stop the transaction and report the listing or contact Just eBikes support.
Are all eBikes legal to ride on Australian roads?
No. Australian road-use rules vary depending on the eBike's motor output, assistance system, speed and state or territory requirements. Some high-powered or throttle-operated bikes may only be suitable for private property or off-road use.
What is the difference between road-use and private/off-road eBikes?
Road-use eBikes must comply with the applicable Australian and state or territory rules for use on public roads and paths. Higher-powered or otherwise non-compliant eBikes may be intended for private property or designated off-road use only.
What should I do if I have a problem with a seller?
First try to resolve the issue directly with the seller. Keep relevant messages, receipts and listing information. If you believe a listing or account breaches marketplace rules, contact Just eBikes.
How do I report a listing?
If you see misleading, inappropriate or suspicious marketplace content, contact Just eBikes support with the listing details so it can be reviewed.
